Part-time Studies

Each person's journey to success at York is unique. We strive to make our courses accessible to everyone through daytime-only, afternoon, evening, online and weekend programs, as well as part-time programs/courses.

Full-time versus Part-time

  • Full-time undergraduate students are defined as those taking more than nine credits per academic term.
  • Part-time undergraduate students are defined as those taking fewer than nine credits per academic term.

What's available

Most of our courses are offered on a part-time basis, allowing our students to balance personal and professional/work obligations. Certain Faculties such as the Schulich School of Business and the Lassonde School of Engineering require students to take their courses full-time. Be sure to check if your program requires full-time enrolment.

How to Apply

Undergraduate admission and application procedures are the same whether you're interested in full-time or part-time studies. Once you're admitted, the number of courses you enrol in will determine your whether you are considered a full-time or part-time student each year. At York, you pay by the course.
